Counseling Center

Christ’s Church is blessed to have a professional counseling center on our campus. The counseling center is dedicated to Biblically based, affordable counseling from a Christian perspective to help individuals and families. Our counselors, who maintain clear values in faith, work hard to provide appropriate, timely and cost effective treatment to meet the unique needs of each person.

Jesus Christ – and His revelation in the Old and New Testament of the Bible, as the inspired Word of God – is the preeminent model for the Christ’s Church Counseling Center’s practice, ethics, caregiving activities and the final authority for all matters about which it speaks. The Counseling Center offers help with a wide variety of personal and family issues; substance abuse, marital conflicts, divorce/blended family issues, grief, loss and separation issues, behavioral problems, addictive behavior, childhood abuse, family conflicts, depression, issues of spirituality, identity issues.

In addition to individual counseling, during the school year, classes, support groups and Bible studies are offered at various times in order to give opportunities for learning and for applying the truths of the Bible. These classes cover a range of topics including grief, pre-marital classes, divorce recovery, parenting, recovery from addictions, marriage and family classes. Whether a Bible study, a class about spiritual disciplines, or a support group for finding freedom from pain and suffering, there is always a chance for connection and growth.

Christians often focus so much on being loving and unselfish that they forget their own limits and limitations. Do you have trouble saying no? Can you set limits and still be a loving person? Are you in control of your life? Do people take advantage of you? Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend offer biblically based answers to these tough questions as they show us how to set healthy boundaries with our parents, our spouses, our children, our friends and even ourselves.

When a parent loses a child, you are faced with the reality of many years ahead of you before you are reunited with that child in Heaven. As you face those seemingly interminable years, we have some choices to make… Are you going to abandon or apply your faith? Are you going to allow grief to make you bitter, or allow God to use grief to make you better?

These, and many more questions, are discussed at the While We’re Waiting support groups. Here you’ll find other parents who have gone through the same life-altering moment of losing a child. Here you’ll find others who have found hope on the other side.
