Encounter
What Is Encounter?
Encounter is a three-day discipleship event for men or for women. At Encounter you’ll hear the stories of others through teachings and testimonies about how they have learned to live in Christ’s freedom, share times of worship and community, explore truths about Jesus through personal devotion and reflection, and learn tools to help fight the enemy on this path of freedom. Something special happens when we can get out of our normal routine and environment and encounter Jesus, either for the first time or in a new way.
Women’s Encounter
The heart of Encounter is to see women find the freedom that only Jesus can offer. We believe that in Christ, every story is a freedom story! But we also know we have a real enemy who seeks to hinder us from walking in that freedom.
Once the weekend is over, we invite you to continue in the discipleship community by joining a weekly Post Encounter group.
Frequently Asked Questions
Beyond The Weekend
This is a time to gather in preparation for Encounter weekend. It’s full of important logistical details, testimonies of women from past years, and space to reflect and pray over what the Lord wants to do in your heart. If you can not be there, please contact Theresa Barnes.
Once you’ve returned from Encounter weekend, we take the next 11 weeks to dig deeper into the discoveries you made. Keep the momentum going by joining us as we study and learn from God’s word and each other. Post-Encounter is offered on Sunday mornings during the 10:45am service or Thursday evenings at 6:30pm.
Men’s Encounter
Freedom in Christ is something all men desire to experience but very few do. Freedom is not something we can achieve on our own, but something we receive in Jesus and through the power of the gospel. At Men’s Encounter, we gather as a group of men and learn what it looks like to orient our whole selves towards being complete in Jesus.
