We would love for you to join us on a Thursday at 6:45pm or Sunday at 8:00am, 9:15am or 10:45am. On Wednesdays during the school year we also offer classes, studies and groups for adults, as well as worship gatherings and age-appropriate programming for kids and students beginning at 6:30pm.

Our campus is located on the same plot of land outside of Joplin, Missouri where God began this church family more than 60 years ago. Find us at 22145 Kafir Rd., Oronogo, MO 64855

What To Expect

Our Sunday mornings are relaxed and comfortable, and you will feel welcomed as soon as you arrive on campus. Our music is lively and connective, the teaching is Biblically based and relevant to your life, and our fellowship is genuine and refreshing. Come early and visit our cafe to get a drink before service, or spend some time visiting with friends in the lobby.

We have three adult worship gathering times, 8:00am, 9:15am and 10:45am. Each gathering is identical, so pick the time that works best for you. Our cafe is open all morning long, and we have a Welcome Center available for you to find out more information about what’s going on and what we are studying as a church family.

Kingdom Kritters is the place for all children ages birth through Pre-K, and they are open during each service in the Early Childhood area next to the Worship Center. Kids Klub and Kids Klub Jr. is in the Children’s Ministry Area for kids in grades K-4 during the 9:15am and 10:45am hours. And there are core classes at 9:15am for students in grades 5-12 located in the Student Ministry Centers.

Thursdays are a breathe-easy kind of gathering. The same pieces of a Sunday morning but in a more relaxed and intimate environment. We hope it’s a place you can feel at home after a long day and somewhere you can rest in the presence of God alongside your Christ’s Church brothers and sisters.

We gather for worship in Student Ministry Center East at 6:30pm but have a cafe in the East lobby for you to come early, grab some snacks and drinks and catch up with your community. We have age-specific programming for children from birth through Pre-K in our Early Childhood area across the parking lot in the main building next to the Adult Worship Center and Kindergarten through 4th grade down the hallway in Kid’s Klub.

Each Wednesday night during the school year we gather together for teaching and for fellowship. Adults have the opportunity to be involved in classes and Bible studies, and children and students have programming designed just for them. Wednesday nights are casual and fun, so come with your whole family and experience God moving through the fellowship of his people.

Children ages birth through Pre-K have programming in the Early Childhood area (just off the worship center). Kids in grades K-4 have a special gathering of Kid’s Klub in the Children’s Ministry Hallway. 5th-8th grade students have a worship gathering in the Student Ministry Center East, and 9th-12th students have a worship gathering which meets in the Student Ministry Center North (separate buildings at the north end of campus).

Wednesday nights start at 6:30pm. The cafe is open with a special dinner menu each Wednesday night.

At Christ’s Church we believe it is vital to connect to others in healthy and growing relationships. Jesus never intended us to go through the joys and trials of life alone. A small group is a place for each of us to be real with each other so that we can help each other along toward maturity in Jesus.

Small Groups meet throughout the week – most on weeknights, but some meet during the day, morning, or on weekends. Most often groups meet in each other’s homes all over the greater Joplin area.

Small Groups gather together to go through a lesson that is based on the sermon from the previous week. The lesson includes a time of Bible study, application, and prayer. This allows for a natural growth as groups experience true community and become a picture of the Church.

What We Believe

Christ’s Church of Oronogo exists to believe in and worship God according to Scripture. As stated below, we regard the Bible alone as the divinely inspired and ultimately authoritative revelation of divine truth. We are associated with a heritage of churches who emphasize union in biblical truth and seek to restore the spirit of the apostolic church as modeled and taught in the New Testament. Because we see value in articulating a summary of what we believe Scripture teaches, as a local congregation under Christ’s headship and in partnership with the Holy Spirit and all churches who faithfully worship in the name of Jesus, the elders of Christ’s Church set forth the following statement of core beliefs which forms the unchanging basis for our life together as a community of believers seeking completeness in Christ Jesus.

We believe God has revealed his nature, character, and will in the Bible, which is in its entirety the uniquely inspired written Word of God, infallible and without error in all that it affirms, and which is, therefore, the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

2 Tim 3:16; 2 Pet 1:20-21; Jn 10:35; Acts 2:42; Eph 3:2-6; 1 Thess 2:13; Deut 17:18-20; Josh 1:8-9; Neh 8; Ps 19:7-11; 119

We believe in the one true Almighty God, holy, eternal, immortal, unchanging, and self-sufficient, Who eternally exists in three co-equal persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is perfect in goodness, wisdom, power, and love, knowing all things past, present, and future. God created all things visible and invisible, His sovereign plan of redemption was set in place before the foundation of the world, and He will bring it to completion.

Deut 6:4; Isaiah 40, 44; Gen 1:1-2; Exod 3:14; 34:6-7; Jas 1:17; Matt 28:19-20; 2 Cor 13:14; 1 Tim 6:16-17; Eph. 1:3-14

We believe God creates all human beings in his image, male and female, and therefore all people have intrinsic value and purpose. Adam and Eve together disobeyed God and so incurred divine judgment unto death. All likewise sin and fall short of God’s glory, and are thereby alienated from God, in bondage to sin, and under the condemnation of God’s righteous wrath.

Gen 1-3; 9:6; Ps 8; 139; Jn 8:34; Rom 1:18-32; 3:9-20, 23; 5:12; 7:14-24; Eph 2:1-3; Col 1:21; Titus 3:3

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son and living Word, our Savior and Lord, in Whom the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form. He was born of a virgin, becoming fully human in all ways yet was without sin, and established God’s kingdom on earth. He died in our place as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, bearing divine judgment and so reconciling to God all who trust in Him. He was bodily resurrected in victory over Satan and death, and He ascended to the Father’s right hand where He currently reigns and intercedes for His people.

Matt 1:18-25; 4:23; Mk 1:14-15; Lk 2:1-21; Jn 1:1-18; Rom 3:21-26; 5:1-11; 8:1-4, 31-39; 2 Cor 5:18-21; Phil 2:1-11; Col
1:15-20; 2:9-15; Titus 3:4-7; Heb 1:1-4; 2:14-15; 9:11-28; 1 Pet 2:21-25; 3:18-22; 1 Jn 1:9-2:2; 3:8; 4:9-10; Rev 5:1-14; 12:1-12

We believe salvation can be found only in Christ and is offered to all by grace through faith—a living faith that is demonstrated through repentance, confession, baptism, and a life of loyal obedience to Jesus as King. We believe Christ will visibly return to restore creation and judge the living and the dead, welcoming believers into God’s eternal blessing and shutting out from God’s presence once and for all those who have rejected the gospel.

Jn 14:6; Acts 4:12; 2:38; Eph 2:8-10; Rom 10:9; Lk 9:23-26; Acts 1:11; 1 Cor 4:5; 1 Thess 4:13-18; 2 Thess 1:5-12; Rev 20

We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who is fully divine and personally present in the church and in the world perfecting the work of Father and Son. The Holy Spirit draws unbelievers to Christ through conviction of sin and illuminating the power of the gospel. The Holy Spirit indwells believers to seal, assure, transform, guide, gift, and empower them for discipleship and service in God’s kingdom.

Mt 28:19; Acts 5:3-4; 1 Cor 2:11-12; Heb 9:14; Gal 4:4-6; 5:16-25; Jn 16:8-11; 2 Cor 3:12-18; Eph 1:13; 1 Cor 12; Rom 8

We believe the church is a community of Christ’s disciples comprised of all those across time and beyond denominational distinction who have joined God’s covenant family through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. The one, holy, apostolic, global church is the bride and body of Christ over which He rules as head, the temple of the Holy Spirit, and the visible manifestation of God’s invisible kingdom. The church gathers in love to worship God through preaching, song, giving, baptism, and the Lord’s Supper, and goes into all the world to embody and proclaim the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Mt 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 2:38-47; Rev 7:9-17; Eph 5:22-33; Rom 12:3-8; 1 Cor 3:16; 11:17-34; Eph 3:9-11; Col 3:11-17; 4:2-6
