Join A Small Group

Many in our Christ’s Church community struggle to bridge the gap between what they say they believe and how to genuinely live it out. Rooted is a 10-week discipleship experience empowering you to connect with God, the Church and your purpose so that you can live more passionately and purposefully for Christ.

What is the difference between Rooted and Small Groups?

Rooted groups are an on-ramp to Small Groups. As you get to know the other people in your group, you will share important aspects of your life and journey together over the course of the 10 weeks. Rooted groups that commit to 10 weeks together, are already in a perfect place to start a new small group, and so we strongly advise that you try Rooted before joining an open Small Group.

How do I register and what is the cost?

Registration is easy! Once registration is open for the upcoming session, click on the link to register and follow the steps. The course cost is $50 per person, which includes all sessions, your workbook and related materials, along with the Celebration dinner at the end of the 10 weeks.

Where will my Rooted group meet?

All of our Rooted groups will initially meet/launch from our campus on Sunday evening and then each group will be assigned a room on campus to meet either Sunday or Thursday evening.

What if I cannot make all ten weeks?

We understand that Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth it to invest in the entire process. If you know you are going to miss more than 2 meetings, we ask that you wait until the next session of Rooted. The 10 weeks are a cumulative experience, and so we ask that every participant commit to honor each other with being at every meeting.

Why do I have to pay?

Rooted is a 10-week experience which includes a workbook, first and last week snacks, Prayer experience supplies/meal, Serve experience supplies and the Celebration Dinner at the end. We believe you will see the value of this experience once you have completed it.

Can my small group participate in Rooted together?

Yes, your small group can go through Rooted together! The most effective Rooted group size is 15, so if your group is smaller or larger, we may ask you to include others, or to form multiple groups in order to provide the best-possible experience. Contact Jake Harp to find out how your small group may participate in Rooted together.

Is childcare available?

Childcare is available for children 0 yrs. – 6th grade onsite for all 10 weeks and two of the three Rooted Experiences (Prayer Experience and Celebration). When you register for Rooted, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to register for childcare.

When do I get my materials?

You will receive your workbook the first time you meet together with your group. Your leader will have your materials and walk you through how to use it.

How will my Rooted group be chosen?

Our Rooted team will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 10-14 people. We group by age, marital status, and life stage. We form groups of married couples, singles, women, men, and young adults. These groups ultimately depend upon the demographics of those who registered. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups that we think will provide the best experience for all people who attend. While we do our best to honor requests when possible, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all friend or leader requests.

Are there scholarships available?

We do not want finances to limit your involvement in Rooted. Scholarships are available for those who would like to take part in Rooted but are unable to due to finances. Contact Jake Harp for more information about applying for a scholarship.

I've already been through Rooted. Now what?

If your Rooted group chose to not stay together and you are now looking for a new small group, contact Jake Harp to be placed in a group!

All of our small groups focus on four primary rhythms that we believe are essential to healthy group life: study, service, prayer, and fun. Though focused on the same four rhythms, our small groups all have their own unique feel. Just as no two people are the same, no two small groups are the same.

Lead A Small Group

Do you feel called to lead a small group?

Leading a small group is one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences you can have.

You’ll share in both the highs and lows of those you lead. You are also a representation of both Christ’s Church of Oronogo and of how the worldwide Church operates.

Step 1

Graduate from Rooted

Rooted is where our Small Groups begin, and so we require that all leaders graduate from Rooted to be able to experience the rhythms that will be asked of the small group you lead.

Register for Rooted

Step 2

Agree to the community and theological guidelines

Read and subscribe to the Small Group Leadership Commitment and the Christ’s Church doctrinal statements

Step 3
