Small Groups

Little churches that seek to enjoy fellowship and share life together through smaller gatherings. These groups aren’t meant to replace the Church, but strengthen it.

Small groups are important communities that help strengthen the church because they provide intentional space for encouragement, accountability, and growth. These groups foster deep relationships that lean on Christ to inform their conversations in love and truth. They also become great ways to introduce people who don’t know Christ to his community and expand the kingdom through multiplication. The Church is never done growing, and so groups are never done inviting.

The best way to dive into a small group here at Christ’s Church is through Rooted.

Rooted is an 11-week small group experience where you will explore the Bible, engage in experiences, share stories, and practice the rhythms essential to a healthy spiritual life. We think of Rooted as an on-ramp to Small Groups so we strongly advise that you begin with Rooted before joining an open Small Group.

Frequently Asked Questions

Rooted groups are an on-ramp to Small Groups. As you get to know the other people in your group, you will share important aspects of your life and journey together over the course of the 11 weeks. Rooted groups that commit to 11 weeks together, are already in a perfect place to start a new small group, and so we strongly advise that you try Rooted before joining an open Small Group.

Registration is easy! Once registration is open for the upcoming session, click on the link to register and follow the steps. The course cost is $50 per person, which includes all sessions, your workbook and related materials, along with the Celebration dinner at the end of the 11 weeks.

All of our Rooted groups will initially meet/launch from our campus on Sunday evening and then each group will be assigned a room on campus to meet either Sunday or Thursday evening.

We understand that Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth it to invest in the entire process. If you know you are going to miss more than 2 meetings, we ask that you wait until the next session of Rooted. The 11 weeks are a cumulative experience, and so we ask that every participant commit to honor each other with being at every meeting.

Rooted is a 11-week experience which includes a workbook, first and last week snacks, Prayer experience supplies/meal, Serve experience supplies and the Celebration Dinner at the end. We believe you will see the value of this experience once you have completed it.

Yes, your small group can go through Rooted together! The most effective Rooted group size is 15, so if your group is smaller or larger, we may ask you to include others, or to form multiple groups in order to provide the best-possible experience. Contact Josh Clark below to find out how your small group may participate in Rooted together.

Childcare is available for children 0 yrs. – 4th grade onsite for all 11 weeks and two of the three Rooted Experiences (Prayer Experience and Celebration). Dinner is not provided for children, so please eat before or pack food for your child.

You will receive your workbook the first time you meet together with your group. Your leader will have your materials and walk you through how to use it.

Our Rooted team will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 10-14 people. We group by age, marital status, and life stage. We form groups of married couples, singles, women, men, and young adults. These groups ultimately depend upon the demographics of those who registered. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups that we think will provide the best experience for all people who attend. While we do our best to honor requests when possible, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all friend or leader requests.

We do not want finances to limit your involvement in Rooted. Scholarships are available for those who would like to take part in Rooted but are unable to due to finances. Contact Josh Clark below for more information about applying for a scholarship.

Already been through Rooted and looking to join a small group?

All of our small groups focus on four primary rhythms that we believe are essential to healthy group life and to personal discipleship: study, service, prayer, and fun. Just as no two people are the same, no two small groups are the same. Try a group out today!
