Jesus pursues you with His grace and sits with you in your struggle.
“I’m good…no, really…I’m good.” How many times have you uttered that phrase and deep within you know you are not really good. Not even close. I’ve been there. Heck, I’m currently there. Life is hard. Marriage is hard. Raising a kid is hard. The reality is, life is messy and most of the time we want to dodge the cast of judgment and ridicule, so we put on a face and when asked, “hey, how are you doing?” we simply stammer into our coached response of…”I’m good.” We attempt to distance ourselves from God and other people, yet God continues to pursue us with his grace.
Jesus sits with the women at the well and reveals her condition, and most importantly He gives her a purpose. In the midst of a season when all you want to say is, “I’m good” and isolate yourself; Jesus pursues you with His grace and sits with you in your struggle. Life is hard. Yet we have a God who shows his love and gives us hope in tomorrow. All He is asking from us is that we would open up, have a conversation, and sit with Him.
