I walked into my office the other day and, much (or little) to my dismay, noticed some shriveled leaves attached to what I could only assume was a stem at some point. Suffice to say, it could have used a drink…about 2 months ago.

As obvious as it is, when it comes to plant growth, water is required. And when it comes to spiritual growth, living water is.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” ‬‬

John‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭NIV

Sometimes, I think we can treat constant and habitual time with Jesus like an office plant behind a closed door that we check on a couple months too late.

What would it look like if we allowed Jesus to be our daily, moment-to-moment, supply of spiritual hydration? For my plant, the first step was putting the plant in a room where I see it every day.

In my walk with Jesus, it has looked like starting my day in prayer and scripture to remind myself (not God) that I love Him and want to live my days in His presence. It has looked like making my phone background a Bible verse I am trying to memorize.

What is it for you?
