Encounter

What Is Encounter?

Encounter is a three-day discipleship event for men or for women. This is one of the primary ways people at Christ’s Church are finding the freedom that Christ offers and the community that we all desperately need. Something special happens when we can get out of our normal routine and environment and encounter Jesus, either for the first time or in a new way.

Women's Encounter

It starts as a weekend away but it can launch one of the most powerful explorations into the heart of God. This is one of the primary ways women at Christ’s Church are finding the freedom that Christ offers and the community that we all desperately need. Women’s Encounter has three parts: Pre-Encounter, Encounter Weekend and Post-Encounter.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does registration cost?

While we wish we could offer this weekend at no charge, that simply is not possible. We ask each attendee to invest $120 toward meals, lodging and supplies. This registration fee will be accepted at time of registration or worked out accordingly with one of the leadership team. If this amount is difficult for you, please don’t let that stop you from attending. God has been consistently generous and scholarships are available. Please contact Dana Hutson for more info.

Where is Women's Encounter held?

We’ll be heading to Sky Ranch at Cave Springs in Quapaw, Oklahoma. For info on the camp visit skyranch.org/cavesprings.

Beyond The Weekend

Pre-Encounter will help prepare you to “Encounter the Cross” at the Encounter. This is vital for the success of your encounter. If you can not be there, please contact Dana Hutson.

Once you’ve returned from your Encounter weekend, we take the next 8 weeks to dig deeper into the discoveries you made. Keep the momentum going by joining us as we study and learn from God’s word and each other. Post-Encounter is offered on Sunday mornings during the 10:45am service or Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm.

School of Discipleship is for women who are committed to searching the deep things of God. This is a 15-week commitment for women who have completed both Encounter and Post-Encounter. Join a small group of women who, like you, long to know more about how to study the truths of Scripture and apply those truths to everyday life. Explore ways you can lead those around you and gain confidence in your walk with God.

Men's Encounter

Men’s Encounter is a weekend to spend with Jesus and connect with other men. During the weekend we will look at 14 different areas of our lives and discover God’s hand in all of them. We will learn through testimonies, teachings, and worship. This weekend has the potential to change your life as you “Encounter the Cross.” If you come with a humble and open heart, ready to allow God to change you from the inside out, your life will never be the same!

Through the seven weeks of Post-Encounter we will learn to live out the freedom Jesus has given us. We will connect and move together as God leads us into greater freedom in Him.

Through the eighteen weeks of School of Discipleship we will build upon the foundation established at Encounter and Post-Encounter. We will dive into the tenets of our faith learning to be disciples of Jesus and how we make disciples for Jesus.

Baptism

Baptism doesn't earn God's grace or mercy, it is how we receive it. It doesn't force God's hand, it is our identification with Jesus. Interested in being baptized?
