Welcome Home Class
The Church is not a building where we meet, but a gathering of God’s family. We know it can be easy to slip in on a Sunday or Thursday, sit in the seats and hurry out, but there is so much more to be found in a community of Jesus followers than just attending a service. If you want to make Christ’s Church home – to connect, to serve, to find out more about what it means to be a part of our family – this two-week class is a great place to begin.
Baptism
Baptism is the union ceremony of the believer with God and his Church as they publicly acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior, and are filled with the Holy Spirit. It is the symbolic ritual of being dipped into water like a grave and being lifted out like a resurrection.
Serving
When we’ve experienced the goodness of our God, a desire to serve, to engage, and to participate is the natural response. We are not content to simply observe or consume, and we can’t imagine keeping the good news of God’s love to ourselves. We serve.
We serve in the Church because in God’s home we are HOSTS – active participants in the family of God – caring for those in his family and welcoming those who haven’t experienced the wholeness in Jesus as we have. We serve in our community and world because we are sent into our neighborhoods, cities, and world to make a Kingdom IMPACT. We are the hands and feet of Jesus, called to love and serve all people, showing them the One who loves them most.
Pathways
It is our desire that you would experience completeness in Jesus. We’ve developed Pathways as a resource to help you on your joureny with Jesus. Pathways are not tasks to make you holy, they are a meeting place where you can be with the Holy One. It’s only in communion with God that our beliefs are changed, our desires are reordered, and our actions become holy. God has given us the Bible, prayer and community as three main pathways to experience life with him. Explore this online resource to know Him more, grow deeper in your relationship with Him, and go with Him in what He is already doing.
