Each month we will be featuring a blog post from our Mission of the Month. The month of April we are focused on Good News Production International and the work they do to help people access the Gospel in their native language in a way they can understand. Here’s a story they shared about how the videos they produce touch the lives of more than just the viewers.
A GNPI production team in India needed two people to play the part of a couple for a short
video drama about abuse in dating relationships. The two chosen to help tell the story were in
their 20’s, did not know one another, and didn’t believe in Jesus. They agreed to act their parts
because they thought it might be “cool to do an acting gig!”
During production, they asked the GNPI crew questions about the key message of the media
piece. Among their questions were, “what’s the basis for trust in a relationship anyway?” The
two started chatting, sought more answers, and eventually fell in love and married! A year later,
they have their first child and love Christ and their local church deeply.
Acting out the good news married the deepest longings for the truth of two seekers with companionship and helped them to be the first to experience the good news from this special
media segment!
