When we fight for what we’re for, the impact is incredible. When we fight for good, it inevitably also conquers what is evil.
It seems like everyone these days is anti-something. It’s not very hard for people to hop on board with something they are against— food choices, sports teams, political views, religious preferences, the list goes on and on. Often times, being against something brings us together far more than being for something.
But what if we changed that? What if instead of choosing to operate on what we’re against, we operated on what we’re for? That doesn’t mean we DON’T fight against oppression or sin or evil, but it means that the root of what we do, and why we do it, comes out of what we believe to be right and good and holy.
At LifeChoices, we are pro-love, and pro-ALL life. We are for women and men and their children living abundant lives, not just lives of mediocrity. We believe worthiness is not reserved for one people group. We think that every person is created in the image of God and therefore worthy of His love. And if they’re worthy of his love, shouldn’t that make them worthy of ours, too?
Students. Mothers. Fathers. Families. The addicted, the afraid, the abused. The faithless, the fearful, the foreign. The broken, the bruised, the lost, the used. The rich, the poor, the old, the young. The heart that has just begun to beat in the womb, and the heart that is broken because of the cycle of exploitation they are stuck in.
They are worthy not because of who they are or what they’ve done, but because of who God has declared them to be. That is why LifeChoices operates out of what it is for. Because we want every person who comes within earshot of our ministry to know that God’s love is for them.
Very few women facing unplanned pregnancies walk into a clinic expecting a judgement-free environment with excellent medical services at no cost to them. Not many students walk into a health class expecting to feel profoundly cared about. No women facing jail time for prostitution expect an opportunity to get out of “the life”. No one walks into an STD exam room expecting to meet Jesus. And yet, that’s just every day routine around here. In a sensitive and dark area of life, we get to shine a light of gospel truth. We get to serve “the least of these” with love and kindness every single day.
In the last 30 years, LifeChoices has had the honor and privilege to serve nearly 277,000 individuals with caring and compassionate medical services, and empowering relationship education. Every day we get to tell people that we believe in them and that we believe God has a beautiful life planned for them. And this is because of you. Because of Christ’s Church of Oronogo’s investment, thousands of men and women in our communities have heard the Good News through the work of LifeChoices.
When we fight for what we’re for, the impact is incredible. When we fight for good, it inevitably also conquers what is evil. Romans 12:21 reminds us “do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Thank you for standing with us, for standing for life, and for being motivated by what you’re for.
