As I was sitting in Jim Dalrymple’s Timothy and Titus class my junior year, I realized there was far more to my future than I realized. In this class, as one of our finals, we were to write a letter to our future selves and pray over the ones he would be mailing out that year. It was at this moment that I took the time to think about where God had brought me and where He was leading me. From this point on, I realized that Ozark has not only educated me, but has truly formed my heart. It has given me opportunities like this to reflect on the road that God has laid out before me and to truly pray over that call that God has on my life. They have taught me countless lessons on how to teach, preach and study the word. Above all else, Ozark has taught me how to love God and love others.
A Christ-centered community is the basis of everything that Ozark stands for. The second I walked onto campus, it was clear that this place is truly home. Sitting in class, the professors have poured into my life and made sure that I understood Scripture. In the dorms, my roommate Myka and the friends on my floor would listen with care and constantly point me to Christ. Every aspect of Ozark embodies the fact that we are to live in community with one another and encourage each other.
Over the last 3 and a half years that I have spent at Ozark, I have been truly shaped by the Lord through this place. Looking back at freshman year, I see a small, timid girl who had a heart for learning more about Christ and ministry. Now, as I approach graduation, I look forward to fulfilling the call that God has placed on my life by using the foundational knowledge that I have gained during my time here at Ozark. The Lord has truly blessed me with the community, education and experiences that have shaped who I am through Ozark Christian College.
So what does Ozark Christian College mean to me?
Ozark is the place where I met lifelong friends who push, encourage and point me to Jesus. It’s where I have learned how to study Scripture and be able to teach it to others. It’s where I have experienced God’s goodness and seen clearly the call He has placed on my life. Ozark has truly been my home for the last 3 and a half years and will forever be the place I look back on as one of the sweetest seasons of my life. So to me, Ozark is home. The home where I have been able to see the Lord’s goodness and learn far more than I could have ever imagined.
